SPRING:  NEW BEGINNINGS

The Vernal Equinox Spring has arrived!  The earth is tilted so that the sun is directly over the equator and this signifies the start of the Vernal Equinox.  This time of Spring has been celebrated over the centuries as the beginning of the rebirth period.  The Spring Season is probably one of the most embraced and most significant of the season changes, for it denotes the start of new life, regeneration of nature and the renewal of the spirit.

ALTERNATIVE REMEDIES FOR SPRING

Spring denotes the start of the allergy season.  Allergies to dust, pollen, mold and grass begin to make your nose run and your eyes itch and water.  Skin conditions begin to surface such as dermatitis or eczema or psoriasis.  Asthma begins to be a bigger problem.  Keep your liver and gallbladder healthy during this time to help detoxify your body as you would spring clean your house.  Spring is a great time to detox, start an exercise program, lose some of those extra winter pounds and make sure that you are getting good sleep.  Chiropractic care including acupuncture helps with allergies, asthma and keeping all of your organs healthy as we transform during this Spring Season.

SPRING AND TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we have the healing of the five elements.  The energy of the season is rising upward and outward.  The LIVER and GALLBLADDER are the organs of the season.  WOOD is the element of the Spring Season.  The Solar Plexus Chakra is associated with Spring.  Spring Depression begins to be a problem as energies are shifting back and forth from hibernation to growth.  Keep sleep patterns consistent to prevent mood swings or emotional outbreaks.
