The likelihood that you know someone, are related to someone or are that “someone” who has been diagnosed with breast cancer are unfortunately better odds than they use to be. The good news though is that death rates from breast cancer have been declining since about 1990, in part due to better screening and early detection, increased awareness, and continually improving treatment options.
