NOT ALL INJURIES ARE CREATED EQUAL

Pain can come from a variety of structures in the human body. Pain can originate from bones and joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and fascia, spinal discs, nerves, bursae…. In short, pain can be very complicated and is debilitating and exhausting for the affected individuals and their families. Injuries can be classified by the length of time present. Acute (0-7 days following an injury), subacute (7 days to 6 months) and chronic (greater than 6 months). The treatments and techniques used to resolve the issues depend upon what category a patient presents. There are techniques that can rid the body of both acute and chronic pain within only a few visits using various chiropractic techniques, acupuncture and rehabilitation procedures. Chiropractors do not only treat neck and back problems, but extremity work is a large part of the practice at The Hart Wellness Center. Dr. Hartmann will be attending an Active Release Techniques (www.activerelease.com) continuing educational seminar in July for the “gold standard” in soft tissue treatment. He will become equipped with the latest and greatest soft tissue treatment techniques that are currently available. He prides himself and his practice on constant learning and remaining at the cutting edge of treatment options available to complementary medicine. He looks forward to getting back in the clinic and sharing his knowledge and expertise with his patients. If you or someone you know are suffering from pain for any length of time, please give our office a call so we can help you have a happy and active summer!

A POWERFUL ALLY

Massage therapy can be a very powerful treatment option in your complementary healthcare. The time has come for complementary and alternative healthcare options. There’s no denying the power of bodywork. Regardless of the adjectives we assign to it (pampering, rejuvenating, therapeutic) or the reasons we seek it out (a luxurious treat, stress relief, pain management), massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen. Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress. This translates into decreased anxiety, enhanced sleep quality, greater energy, improved concentration, increased circulation, and reduced fatigue. Eve acts as the sole massage therapist available at The Hart Wellness Center. She is available a few evenings throughout the week and her massage practice is calming and clinically relevant. Massage therapy is used in conjunction with chiropractic and rehab techniques to get the patient back to full recovery quicker than ever before.
